Embedded within the RISD campus, this proposal for a new cafe and garden for the RISD Museum extends the notion of community beyond its existing boundaries. The cafe presents a personable and accessible experience between the institution and the city through coffee, conversation, space and comfort. The garden forms a threshold to the cafe, and the cafe in turn becomes a vestibule to the museum galleries beyond.

We were invited to submit a proposal to the RISD Museum of Art. This proposal was developed in collaboration with Silvia Acosta. Rendered plan and perspectives by Christine Zavesky.
